Course Information
The Chicago Lakeshore Marathon is an incredibly scenic and predominantly flat 26.2 mile run along Chicago's Lake Michigan shoreline. The course follows through the Chicago Park District's famed Burnham, Grant and Lincoln Parks. The Chicago Lakeshore Marathon is both USA Track and Field (USATF) and Associations of International Marathons and Road Races (AIMS) certified and as such is a Boston Marathon Qualifier.



Runner Friendly - Limited Field

Limited to 2500 marathon entries to maximize pleasure! The Chicago Lakeshore Marathon is a true, runner friendly marathon experience. A limited field, seeded start, and incredibly scenic course provide participants a most enjoyable and fun marathon experience

Registered Runner Confirmation
The Lakeshore Marathon does not mail out hard copy confirmation cards. Registered Runners need to simply bring a photo ID to get their Bib#, information packet, Champion Chip and goodie bag at packet pick-up between 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday May 2nd and 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3rd. Packet Pick-Up
Registered Runners must pick-up their Runner Packets, including Bib#, ChampionChip, and Goodie Bag between 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday May 2nd and 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3rd.

Runner Seeding and Staging
Lakeshore Marathon runners will be seeded and staged at the start according to their expected finishing times. Participants should register asap and certainly by April 15th to apply to receive a seeded Bib#.



ChampionChip®

The Lakeshore Marathon will use the ChampionChip® timing system. The ChampionChip® is a high-tech, mini transponder that provides accurate net and split times for every individual athlete.

Gear Check
Gear check will be provided at the Start / Finish area for registered runners to store their warm-up clothes during the event. Gear check will be according to the event participant's assigned Bib#.

Aid Stations
Runner support will be provided at the Start / Finish are and approximately every two-miles on the course. Each support station will provide water and Sport Drink. Energy Gel will also be provided on the Lakeshore Marathon course at about the 12-mile and 20-mile mark. Restrooms will be available throughout the course.

Medical Support
Professional medical personnel will be available to assist runners in need. Mobile care and communications units will be available at the Start / Finish and along the course. Medical personnel will have discretionary authority to remove any participant perceived to be a potential health risk, or in a deteriorating physical condition.



Massage

Post-marathon massages will be available. Massages will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis to help sooth your tired and weary bodies.

All Lakeshore Marathon Finisher's receive:

- A Commemorative Finisher's Medal
- A Live Sapling Tree to take home and replant

Awards
Overall Finisher's Awards will be presented to the top five overall M/F finishers and top three M/F Masters. Age group awards will be presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place M/F finishers in the following 5-year age group categories: 19-under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-over.

Lost and Found
Lost and found will be located adjacent to the Gear Check pick-up until 2:00 p.m. on Event Day.
